Step 1

Cut strips of paper about 6-7 cm long and 1 cm wide. You can write wishes, congratulations, etc., on them.

Separate the egg whites from the yolks and pour them into a medium-sized bowl. Lightly beat the whites for 10 seconds, then add vanilla and vegetable oil and continue beating until the mixture begins to foam slightly.

In a second bowl, add sugar, starch, salt, flour, and water. Use a mixer to blend the ingredients into a uniform mass. Preheat the oven to 180°C. While slowly continuing to beat, pour in the eggs. The result should be a thick mixture. Grease baking paper with butter, then carefully spoon the dough into circles on the paper, leaving space between them so they can expand.

Bake for about 11 minutes until golden.

Step 5

Insert the wish into the cookie.

Use the rim of a mug or cup to shape the cookie - fold it in half so the ends virtually touch each other through the cup.

Step 7

Hold the cookie in this position for some time to set the shape. Now place the folded cookie in a muffin tin (it usually fits, if not - adjust the shape) and bake for another 5-10 minutes.
