Mashed potato casserole with minced meat is a hearty and budget-friendly dish where layers of tender mashed potatoes alternate with fried minced meat with onions and carrots. The top layer is sprinkled with cheese for an appetizing crust. The dish is baked in the oven until golden brown. Served hot with sour cream or fresh vegetables. Great way to use leftover mashed potatoes.

Potato 1.5 kg
minced meat 800 g
cheese 200 g
Milk 1 cup
butter 50 g
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Vegetable oil 3 tbsp

Fry minced meat in a small amount of olive oil. Boil potatoes until ready, make mashed potatoes, adding butter and milk. In a greased pan, place half of the mashed potatoes.

Place a layer of minced meat on top, also about half. Another layer of mashed potatoes and a layer of minced meat.

Sprinkle grated cheese on top. In this case, we add the cheese at the very beginning so that our mashed potato casserole with minced meat gets an appetizing and crispy crust.
