Sour shchi with mushrooms

Sour shchi with mushrooms is a traditional Russian soup based on sauerkraut, prepared with the addition of fresh or dried mushrooms. The soup has a pleasant sour taste and rich aroma. Shchi is cooked in meat or mushroom broth with potatoes, carrots, onions and spices. Served with sour cream and fresh herbs. This is a hearty and healthy dish, especially good in cold weather.

Salt to taste
