Start heating water for the spaghetti and begin making the sauce. Mince garlic and chili peppers. For less heat, remove the seeds. Sauté for a couple of minutes in olive oil.

Peel the ripe tomatoes: score them with a cross and dip in boiling water for one minute.

Add the tomatoes to the spices and simmer until a uniform sauce forms.

Add capers and chopped olives, season with salt, and cook for 5 more minutes.

One minute before the sauce is ready, add the chopped basil.

Cook the spaghetti as directed on the package, drain the water, and drizzle with olive oil.

Place hot spaghetti on a plate and top with the sauce.
