Step 1
Mix all dry ingredients. Add warm milk, eggs, vanilla, oil, and zest. Knead the dough by hand until soft. Leave in an oiled bowl in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled.

Punch down and roll out dough on floured surface to about 35×44 cm and 1 cm thick.
Step 3
Cut into 7×7 cm squares with a pizza cutter.
Step 4
Place about 1 teaspoon of jam in the center of each square.

Fold the square and seal the edges.
Step 6
Repeat the same steps with the remaining dough and jam. Place the buns on a greased baking tray and brush the sides with oil so they don’t stick during baking.
Step 7
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Brush the buns with beaten egg and let sit for another 20 minutes. They should rise slightly more. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
